Summer Fun in Findlay

blanchard river water trail

This rural waterway is over 37 miles long with numerous recreation areas. You can launch your boat at Riverside Landing, Eastpoint Area or Blanchard Landing. Need a spot to kayak or picnic? Head to Jackson Landing, Riverbend Recreation Area, or Waterfalls Area for river access and facilities. Kayak rentals are available at Zonta Landing Boat Rentals in Riverside Park Waterfront.

Bike or walk along the Blanchard River Greenway. The path connects to River Landings, Riverview Walk, and West Point. It runs from W. High St. at N. Cory St. to Howard St. and Broad Ave. 

blue rock nature preserve

This neighborhood park is the perfect place to observe natural wetlands, bird watch, or take a walk on the 0.3-mile Lady Bug Loop Trail.

firestine park

If you're looking for a place to relax, grill out, or let the kids play on a jungle gym, Firestine Park is the place. The park also has a 9-hole Disc Golf Course.

Flag City Sports Complex

The complex houses multiple fields and playgrounds, including the Miracle Field and Miracle Playground that offer equipment for children with disabilities. Flag City Sports Complex also has public batting cages and a walking path.

Fort Findlay playground

Let your imagine run free at this fun reconstruction of Fort Findlay. It's located in Emory Adams Park and great for toddlers and young children.

hancock park district headquarters and visitor center

You can find more information on all of Hancock County's parks at their Visitor Center with 24 access to brochures. The headquarters also has an overlook area, activity center, and prairie.

One acre of Riverbend Recreation Area is designated for our furry companions. Pups can run free without a leash from sun up to sun down, any day of the year.

storywalk

Another fun activity at Riverside Park is the StoryWalk. It's a program by the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library. Walk along the trail clockwise and you'll see seventeen displays with a passage from a children's book. Once you come full circle, you'll have read the whole story! Display posts are updated with a new story monthly.

 

art in the park: Plein air gatherings

An opportunity for fresh air, mingling, and art! Every Thursday from 9:00-11:00 AM, artists gather at one of Hancock County's parks to draw and paint outside. Click here for a list of 2020 gatherings. 

historic walking tour

Bask in the city's rich history on this self-guided tour. Findlay is one of the largest areas in the state for restored Victorian homes. Download the map and information on estates here.

The restaurant complex has one owner, but extensive options between the three facilities. You can find 5-star dining in all of the Gathering properties. Head to the wine shop to enjoy their large selection, hang out on the sidewalk patio, or make a retail purchase with the help of their knowledgable staff. Anvil is located above The Gathering and has a wide range of whiskey, bourbon, craft beers, cigars, and more. They have live music on the patio or at Anvil every weekend.

You can grab a seat on Alexandria's patio or or head up to the La Vista Rooftop Tiki Bar for outdoor fun! Alexandria's has several indoor areas, including the Tap Room, event venues, and the Upper Deck which has shuffle board, pool tables, and more.

Fins was the winner for best seafood in The Courier's 2019 Best of Findlay. They have a fantastic patio and outdoor bar where you can frequently catch live performances.
